Stretches

Stretching is important to increase and maintain joint and muscle flexibility. It can also help the prevention and recovery of muscle injuries.

Important things to remember when you stretch:

  • Don't bounce.
  • Concentrate on slow, sustained stretches.
  • Breathe normally, never hold your breath
  • Hold the stretch for 20 to 30 seconds.
  • Once the muscle feels comfortable, gently increase the stretch, and then hold again.
