TravelSmart Schools Pedal for Ride2School Day
TravelSmart school students across Victoria turned to pedal power to celebrate Ride2School Day last month.
Students from two Echuca schools walked and cycled to school, with Echuca's St Mary's Primary School also holding a bike education session. In the City of Knox, Upper Ferntree Gully Primary School started the day on bike and foot, with students receiving stickers and certificates on arrival.
Warrnambool schools held a combined event, using the day to launch Healthy Moves, a new council program combining key school-based initiatives to increase physical activity.
Ride2School is a national initiative which highlights the benefits of active transport.
